Wow!! Our lives have completely changed! God has blessed us so greatly. On February 9,2010 I woke up around 7 am. When I stood up my water broke. I told Joel I thought it had broke. He says "Are you sure?" and I say "I think so" and he proceeds to roll over and go back to sleep-not the reaction I expected at all:) So I went and took a shower, got dressed and called the hospital. I told them I thought my water had broken but wasn't sure. They said come on in since I was due in 5 days. I told Joel so he rushes to get ready and we head out. After being admitted they confirmed that my water had broken and Sadie would be arriving that day. We were in complete shock-we knew the day was fast approaching but couldn't believe it was actually here. I started having mild contractions around 9 or so. Wasn't long before I requested the epidural. By 1:00 I was ready to push and Sadie made her appearance at 2:07pm. Everyone always told us how much our lives would change once she arrived but we had no idea how right they were. Being a mom is even better than I imagined:) I am so glad I got to experience pregnancy and childbirth although there is still a place in our hearts for our little Ethiopian boy. Hopefully someday we will be able to proceed with bringing him home.
Sadie is the best baby anyone could ask for. The first few weeks home were a blur-we were so exhausted (Joel only got one week off). At 6 weeks Sadie started sleeping through the night and has ever since, which has been wonderful. She is starting to laugh out loud and is always smiling and "talking". She is amazing:)
